Co-founded in 2017 by Yvon Langué and Soukaina Aboulaoula, Untitled Duo is a multidisciplinary editorial design, art direction, and curatorial duo operating from Marrakesh. With a firm belief that cultural production can be conducted by and contributed to by young, alternative cultural practitioners, Untitled is motivated by the field’s challenges and remains committed to developing a praxis that is both local and in communication with the world at large. Untitled is currently a recipient of The Rencontres d’Arles and the Institut Français second Africa projects curatorial research grant for If A Tree Falls in A Forest, a project looking into issues involving perception and representation and knowledge in African photography—or how photography aims to document silences and lacunae.
Soukaina Aboulaoula is an independent curator and researcher based in Marrakesh. Since 2020, as COARC/Mellon Art History fellow, Soukaina has been conducting a three-year research project exploring the various narratives of modern art in Morocco. In addition, Soukaina is interested in the role and influence of the internet in art-making and visual storytelling processes in unearthing invisible subject matters.
Yvon Langué is a graphic designer, curator, and writer based in Marrakesh. He is interested in the possibilities of text and language in shaping discourses at large and in the connectedness of art, theory, and social sciences. Yvon is also an educator at the Marrakesh School of Visual Arts (ésav).
