Aïda Salander was born in 1989 and is a Tunisian DJ and member of the agency of artists in exile. She studied French literature at the University of Manouba in Tunis, and then cultural studies at the University Jean Monnet in St-Étienne. In November 2019, she joined the agency ISOLA sound in Paris and played in the queer self-managed festival Avides Tempêtes, which represents the start of her career in France.
Aïda Salander plays DJ sets that translate the vibe and the connection with her audience. From house music and disco to techno and trance, everything is tinged with her North African origins, her good mood and her love for peace and a party.
During pre-Covid times, she did a residency in L’OEIL Club and Radio Flouka (Tunisian radio based in Paris). She also organizes the event Queer of the Bled, a monthly meeting around music and oriental performances. She is currently doing an artistic residency with Art and Design schools in Grenoble, Valence and Marseille, which is giving her time and resources to research her interests and focus on her new music production.
